Japanese streets

Have you ever been to Japan? I haven’t. But anybody who has been selling vintage sneakers on Ebay knows Japanese are hunting for the real Vintage stuff. Today I discovered this Dutch guy who lives in Tokyo since 1982: Kjeld Duits. He’s a journalist and photographer making the most beautiful pictures of Japanese streetwear. His website japanesstreets.com shows hundreds of men, but mostly women, wearing unbelievable combinations: Hotpants,  checkered dresses, platform shoes, and even the face caps which should protect them from smog, move along the different fashion styles.

Knowing Japanese people like to buy and collect vintage Converse shoes I was quite sure I would find them on Japanese Streets. I can assure you, I’ve been watching over 300 pics trying to find some Vintage Chucks. I still can’t believe I didn’t (or did you see some extra stiches on this pair?). But I did notice something else. Japanese girls have a different idea about what makes a pair of Chucks beautifull. Or they’re just short…
